Mr. Didier Havé. D.E.S.S., Psychologist
Didier Havé possesses a Masters in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology (obtained at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis in France), a specialized graduate diploma in Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology (obtained at the University of René Descartes, Paris V), as well as a diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (obtained at the Universty of Corsica). Since 2001, he has worked as a psychologist specialized in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). He has obtained two certifications in EMDR, one from the EMDR International Association and one from EMDR-Europe, as well as being a member of EMDR-Canada. Since his arrival in Quebec, in 2013, he has become a member of the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec and has joined the NOCI Clinique team.
As a psychologist for the French hospital civil service, Mr. Havé worked for almost ten years in a psychiatric hospital, where he conducted several emergency interventions on patients displaying personality disorders, mood disorders as well as anxiety disorders and psychoses. He has worked for many years in suicide prevention.
After having trained in psychodynamics, Mr. Havé took several training courses: one on systemic family therapy (4 years), another on acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), one on hypnosis and one on EMDR, which is now his specialty. Today, he uses all of theses approaches in an integrative manner, to treat psychological disorders.
He underwent his basic training course in EMDR at the French Institude for EMDR in Paris. After obtaining his certificate from EMDR-Europe, he attended a variety of advanced workshops and supervisions pertaining to EMDR in Canada and in France, given by international experts in the field. He has thus acquired a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of EMDR therapy, of its therapeutic model and its protocols, as they pertain to different pathologies.
Mr. Havé is interested primarily in the continuum of psychological issues which arise from traumatic experiences: post-traumatic stress, traumatic grief, complex trauma, the entirety of dissociative disorders (dissociative amnesia, fugue states, multiple personality disorder, de-personalization disorder, non-specified dissociative disorders) as well as personality disorders which are caused by trauma.
In addition, he is specialized in treating anxiety disorders: phobias, panic attacks with or without agoraphobia, social anxiety and phobia, generalized anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorders.
Ever since having joined the NOCI Clinique team, he has also become interested in the evaluation and treatment of patients suffering from chronic pain.
He provides services in French.
